Accessibility Statement

This statement was last updated on 14 June 2025.

We at Bar Broadway are working to make our site, www.barbroadwayuk.com accessible to people with disabilities.

What web accessibility is

Web accessibility means making digital content usable by as many people as possible, including those with disabilities. This includes individuals with visual, hearing, mobility, or cognitive impairments who may use assistive technologies like screen readers or keyboard-only navigation.

We are committed to making our website inclusive and usable for all visitors, regardless of ability or technology.

Accessibility adjustments on this site

We have adapted this site in accordance with WCAG 2.1 guidelines, and have made the site accessible to the level of AA. This site’s contents have been optimised to work with assistive technologies, such as screen readers and keyboard-only navigation.

We have made the following adjustments to improve web accessibility:

  • Clear and consistent navigation throughout the site

  • Alt text applied to images where relevant

  • Mobile- and tablet-friendly layout

  • Readable fonts and strong colour contrast for clarity

  • Enlarged text for headings and body copy for improved legibility

  • Use of colours that meet contrast requirements in compliance with WCAG 2.1 guidelines

  • Compatibility with screen readers and keyboard-only navigation

  • We are continuously working to improve accessibility and welcome suggestions to make the site better for everyone.

Accessibility arrangements in the organisation

Bar Broadway is housed in a historic building, which presents certain limitations to full physical accessibility. At this time:

  • We welcome wheelchair users, and many wheelchairs can enter the main bar area on the ground floor.

  • However, due to the building’s structure and age, we regret that we cannot offer a fully accessible toilet.

  • The venue includes small steps and changes in level that may limit full mobility access.

  • Our upstairs bar, Off Broadway, is not wheelchair accessible.

We are actively exploring ways to improve accessibility where possible while working within the constraints of our heritage-listed premises.

Requests, issues and suggestions

We are here to listen. If you:

We aim to accommodate as best we can, and your feedback helps us continue improving.
